I came across your website today ...Rodgers Family,

I came across your website today and was moved by Justins story. I was diagnosed with Lemierre's in 1996. I was 16 and a healthy active teenager. My symptoms were similar ( sore throat, fever, chills). I had gone to the hospital with my mom but was sent home after I was told it was a cold/flu. Days later I remember waking up in the ER with tubes and wires coming out of me. I do not remember much of the week leading up to my hospital admission or even the weeks in which I was there.
I had 10% lung use, a JV clot and kidney failure amongst other things. I had lost 40lbs and was not able to eat at all. I was amazed at all the support from friends and family while I was in hospital. Even though I don't remember much I do however remember hundreds of people coming to visit me! People from my small town, church, highschool and some people I had never even met! The support was amazing! My family was by my side the entire time. I do not remember much but I do remember that. My mom would rub my back every night through my tears until I fell asleep.
I am happy to report I have had a clean bill of health since released in 1996. I function normally with only one kidney and still carry a JV clot. With regular ultrasounds and check up's my Dr's aren't concerned. I actually think I'm kinda attached to it now..lol It's been 13 years and I've gotten so used to telling people I have it. I have been able to play sports and continue with my life as would anyone else.

I work as a Paramedic today. I think maybe my new lease on life has inspired me to help others and to learn to experiece life to the fullest. My mom still calls me her "spur of the moment" daughter. :)

I admire your courage and fight for Justin's cause. I know he's watching down and appreciates the love and support,as did I when fighting this battle.

I would be honored to help in anyway possible to support the Lemierre's cause. Please let me know if you need help in any way.

With love from Canada,

Christy Beazley
christylynne_beazley@hotmail.comChristy Beazleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17842268724027712170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5211323220282490702.post-4205543074536381982009-11-12T15:54:36.678-06:002009-11-12T15:54:36.678-06:00I am soo sorry to hear about your loss. I am 17 ye...I am soo sorry to hear about your loss. I am 17 year old female and I have Lemierre's as well. It took the doctors 2 weeks to diagnose me with this. I followed the same path as Justin although they caught my blood clot very early. I truly want to thank your family for everything you have been doing to spread the knowledge of this disease because I know how fortunate I am to have survived. I was in the hospital 11 days and was just released 10 days ago and I am still on IV antibiotics and blood thinner shots at home. I had Med students and instructors coming into my hospital room watching and evaluating me to try and learn about this rare case. God Bless You all.Meredithnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5211323220282490702.post-1366176138613379532009-11-09T18:40:41.613-06:002009-11-09T18:40:41.613-06:00I just want you to know that Florence,Kentucky jus...I just want you to know that Florence,Kentucky just had 2 deaths last month.
